landscape paintings by dawn chandler
elsewhere
Although most of my landscape paintings of late have been focused on New Mexico, I do love to travel, and sometimes I even bring my plein air kit with me. Even if — [gasp!] — I don’t have my paints with me, I always — always! — have a camera.
[Now if only I had time to paint all of the many places elsewhere I know and love… { ~ sigh ~ }]
Here at least is a humble (and hopefully growing) selection of paintings of some of my favorite places beyond New Mexico that I love to visit. Among these ‘elsewhere’ places, you’ll find paintings of Nebraska, where I love to go in March to witness the sandhill crane migration; Oregon, where I often head in June when New Mexico’s heat is most intense; and New England where I have deep soulful roots and have had some life-shaping adventures.
